We are looking for reliable Independent Contractors with or without gardening or landscaping experience. Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions, apart from severe weather, is a must. Some jobs require a bit of strength, however, you will always have help available from others when needed! If you know how to dig a hole and can utilize methods to keep gardens healthy, or have an eagerness to learn, we’d love to meet you!

About Our Organization: Nashville Roots Gardening, LLC is a women owned, women lead company passionate about home landscaping & gardening. We maintain high standards and an attention to detail in our services for each of our clients. We also provide toxic-free pest solutions safe for all, as needed.

Gardener Job Responsibilities: 

  • Physical labor required, some heavy lifting, please ask for help if needed

  • Monitoring the health of all plants and landscapes

  • Deal with pest problems that could cause damage

  • Watering and feeding plants, as required

  • Trimming small trees and shrubs

  • Weeding gardens

  • Keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter

  • Raking, mulching, sweeping, leaf-blowing, maintaining a clean work environment

  • Install and maintain seasonal plants

  • Removal of dead/diseased plants & debris

  • Maintain/Clean and properly store all gardening equipment (i.e., Locked tool shed)

  • Waste disposal

  • Supply pickup

  • Softscapes (i.e., Rocks, bricks, small boulders & other various ‘stones, rocks’)

  • And other similar tasks

Work Hours: Our work hours are Tuesday through Friday varying between 8:30am till 4:30pm. Expect to possibly work in all conditions with the exception of unsafe weather.

Gardener Qualifications and Skills:

  • A willingness to learn and retain information.

  • Be able to work in all-weather conditions (except severe/unacceptable)

  • Comfortable working with or learning how to use common gardening and landscaping tools

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and leadership.

  • Able to take direction and learn from others.

  • Willing to work with others and help where needed.

  • Ability at times to work with minimal supervision
